A new haunting yet beautiful work from this Greek noise unit. Summoning up the well-known Mauthausen Orchestra vibes H.C.N. goes towards something uncommon for modern industrial movement.

Five pieces of murky growl and kaleidoscope of various sounds and textures, evoking associations with the late works of Climax Denial, if they had been recorded in the 80s. But H.C.N. still has it's own recognizable flavor and a place for your own experience.

Weirdly enough it reminds me of the serene ambient output of the band Emeralds, though noticeably starker in tone. The result is a strangely peaceful (dare I say familiar) feeling of quiet dread and homely nihilism. Deathbed Tapes may have harsher and superficially extreme output, but I'd be willing to bet few other releases are as atmospheric as this one. Don't overlook Rubber Nurse! Ben Harris
